Referring Providers

Kary Dental is an independently owned general and surgical dental practice in Bethesda, Maryland. We welcome referrals from dentists, physicians, and other healthcare providers throughout the Bethesda area. Dr. Andrew L. Kary, DDS partners closely with referring colleagues to care for shared patients, keeping communication clear, respecting your treatment relationship, and returning patients to your care once their specific need has been addressed.

Areas of Clinical Focus

We accept referrals across several areas where focused experience makes a difference:

  • Dental sleep medicine, custom oral appliance therapy (OAT) for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and primary snoring, including CPAP-intolerant patients
  • Dental implants, single-tooth through full-arch placement and restoration, including guided implant surgery
  • Surgical extractions, including complete bony third-molar impactions
  • Bone and soft tissue grafting, socket preservation, ridge augmentation, and sinus lifts
  • Frenectomy procedures
  • Sedation, including nitrous oxide anxiolysis, enteral sedation (oral benzodiazepines), and general anesthesia administered by a board-certified anesthesiologist in our office

Dr. Kary is a Qualified Dentist of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (AADSM). For physicians and sleep medicine specialists, oral appliance therapy offers an evidence-based path for appropriate candidates, we coordinate readily with your diagnosis and sleep study findings, fabricate and titrate the appliance, and communicate outcomes so care stays connected across your team.

Dr. Kary’s training includes an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency and an internship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Madigan Army Medical Center, with six years of active-duty service in the Army Dental Corps as an Advanced Clinical Practice General Dentist (63A9F).

How to Refer a Patient

Referring is simple. You can reach us in whichever way is easiest for your office:

Where relevant, please include your clinical notes, any imaging, and, for sleep cases, the diagnosis and sleep study results. We will reach out to the patient promptly to schedule an evaluation, and we are glad to accommodate urgent situations when they arise.

What You and Your Patient Can Expect

Every referred patient receives a thorough evaluation and an honest discussion of options. Consistent with the philosophy of the practice, no quotas, no commissions, and a commitment to inform rather than sell, Dr. Kary recommends treatment only when it genuinely serves the patient, and he explains the risks and alternatives plainly. You can expect timely correspondence at the key points of care: after the initial consultation, at treatment, and at completion.
