Precise diagnosis with 3D imaging

Predictable treatment starts with seeing the whole picture. Along with standard X-rays and a careful clinical exam, we use cone-beam CT (CBCT) imaging when needed to view the roots, canals, and surrounding bone in three dimensions. This is especially helpful for molars, previously treated teeth, and unusual symptoms.

CBCT can reveal hidden canal branches, root fractures, and how the tooth relates to nearby structures like sinuses and nerves. That clarity reduces surprises during treatment and supports a more durable result.

What happens during treatment

After the tooth is fully numbed, a rubber dam is placed to keep the area clean. Using magnification and specialized instruments, we locate each canal, remove infected tissue, and thoroughly disinfect the inside of the tooth with gentle instrumentation and irrigation. The canals are then sealed with biocompatible filling material to prevent reinfection and support healing.

Many root canals are completed in a single visit, and sedation options are available for patients who want extra help relaxing. Mild soreness afterward is normal and usually short-lived; we provide clear aftercare instructions so you know what to expect.

Restoring and protecting the tooth

Long-term success depends on the final restoration. After a root canal, most teeth need a full-coverage crown or similar protective restoration to regain strength and function, and we coordinate that step as part of your plan.
